Spring ISD opened its new professional development center, the TeachUp Spring Learning Center, on June 10, located at 15651 I-45, Spring. The district acquired the former 30,873-square-foot ITT building in 2018 and has since been renovating the property for professional development purposes, according to a July 1 news release.
The center has already hosted several trainings for SISD staff since opening earlier this summer and features a large central training space, a series of classrooms and meeting spaces, a dedicated computer lab, an on-site library and break areas.
Additionally, TeachUp Spring includes two state-of-the-art simulation classrooms that are modeled after SISD primary and secondary classrooms. Each simulation classroom and adjacent observation room is separated by a two-way mirror and features a microphone and earpiece system, which allows instructors in the observation room to offer real-time coaching during simulation exercises, according to the release.
